About The Role
We are looking for a results-oriented insurance leader to oversee the P&L for the Central Region. This individual will have leadership responsibilities in driving business growth and profitability across small to large markets of our Cyber and Technology E&O portfolio. The Head of Central Region must be well versed in executing regional sales strategies, managing loss ratios, and leading high-performing sales and underwriting teams to achieve profitability targets.
This is a fully remote position that can be based anywhere in the Central Region of the US.
Responsibilities
- Drive the overall sales and underwriting strategy within the Central Region, translating it into measurable quarterly and annual goals.
- Own and manage the sales performance for Cyber, Tech E&O, MPL, Executive Risks, and Security product lines and partner with Sales Ops to achieve regional sales goals through accurate forecasting and ongoing team performance management.
- Oversee regional pipelines by actively managing the teams’ pursuit of new business opportunities (e.g., partnerships, broker relationships, commissions book roll, etc.).
- Serve as the primary operational link between the region and the Cyber Portfolio Underwriting (CPU) team to manage complex escalations, enforce underwriting guidelines and risk mitigation strategies, and drive process improvements that support profitable portfolio growth and efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and performance manage regional teams of Business Development and Underwriting talent focusing on coaching and professional development to build long-term capabilities.
- Translate regional market feedback into clear, data-backed recommendations for cross-functional partners (e.g. Strategic Distribution, Product Marketing, Product, Operations) to optimize regional product-market fit.
- Serve as a key external representative for the company at regional industry events and with key broker partners.
Skills And Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in insurance sales and underwriting (Cyber, Tech E&O, MPL, and Executive Risks).
- 5+ years of people management experience of coaching and developing both individual contributors and other people managers.
- Demonstrated track record of success in building teams and growing premium at accelerated pace to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
- Prior experience in managing and/or working cross functionally across small to large insurance teams (underwriting, sales, claims, actuarial, etc.).
- Strong sales, communication and marketing skills are critical; must be able to demonstrate success with managing tight timelines.
- Negotiation, relationship-building, and influencing skills, and a creative approach to challenges and opportunities
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $165,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location.
