Karbon is actively looking for a Senior Product Manager who possesses extensive experience in accounting, small business workflows, and cloud accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and Xero. This role is crucial for developing products that enable accountants to provide Client Accounting Services, including bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll.
In the capacity of Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for owning the roadmap and executing key initiatives while collaborating closely with engineering, design, customers, and go-to-market teams. Your unique combination of accounting expertise and SaaS product management skills will be instrumental in creating solutions that address real-world challenges faced by accountants and small businesses.
Overview of Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and articulate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the company's objectives.
- Prioritize and manage the product roadmap based on customer needs, business impact, and market opportunities.
- Customer & Market Understanding
- Utilize your accounting knowledge and experience collaborating with accountants, bookkeepers, and their clients to gain a deep understanding of workflows, pain points, and opportunities.
- Establish and nurture relationships with customers and partners to gather insights that inform product decisions.
Execution & Delivery
- Work collaboratively with engineering and design teams to deliver features that are functional, delightful, and scalable.
- Translate complex requirements (e.g., GL transactions, reconciliations, integrations) into simple and user-friendly solutions.
- Drive integration and partnership opportunities with platforms such as QuickBooks and Xero.
CrossFunctional Leadership
- Collaborate with go-to-market teams (sales, marketing, customer success) to ensure successful product launches.
- Establish success metrics and monitor adoption, usage, and customer outcomes.

Skills And Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in SaaS or financial software.
- A background in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations (CPA or practical accounting experience is strongly preferred).
- A strong understanding of workflows and interactions between accountants and their small business clients.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar accounting platforms.
- A solid understanding of an accounting firm’s month-end close process.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to translate customer challenges into product solutions and lead cross-functional teams to deliver results.
- A data-driven mindset with experience in using analytics to measure success and guide prioritization.
Nice To Have
- Prior experience at a SaaS company serving accountants or small businesses.
- Familiarity with practice management, payroll, or tax workflows.
- Experience building integrations with financial systems.

As we hire across various locations within the USA we are required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
The range provided is broad and takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are reviewed when making a hiring decision, such as physical location/cost of living in that location, years of experience, skills, and other business needs.
It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and each compensation decision is dependent on each individual case. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which for some roles may include a target bonus, for some roles very competitive equity grant, and very generous benefits.
