What You Will Do:
As the Regional AV Design Team Lead, you will oversee and guide a team of AV Design Engineers across multiple projects and regions. Reporting directly to the Global AV Design Lead, you will ensure the successful delivery of AV solutions while mentoring your team and driving strategic initiatives. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership, coordination, and client engagement.
Travel is required as per business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a regional team of AV Design Engineers, fostering high performance and development.
- Oversee daily design activities across multiple project sites, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Coordinate resource allocation, scheduling, and task assignments to meet project milestones.
- Review and validate AV system designs for technical feasibility and client alignment.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and ensure AV systems meet the highest standards.
- Serve as the primary client contact during design phases, ensuring satisfaction.
- Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, CAD engineers, and programmers for seamless delivery.
- Develop and implement design best practices, workflows, and documentation standards.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during complex tasks.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate training and knowledge sharing across the design team.
- Support strategic planning and continuous improvement within the AV design function.
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of proven experience as an AV Design Engineer or similar role.
- Strong understanding of AV technologies including audio processors, video codecs, displays, and control systems.
- Familiarity with AV protocols such as HDMI, HDBaseT, Dante, and AES67.
- Proficiency in AV system calibration and audio optimization.
- Familiarity with AV testing equipment and measurement tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and technical problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills for client and team interaction.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Professional demeanor and customer-focused approach.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Desirable Criteria:
- Industry certifications such as CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist or equivalent).
- Experience with AV control programming languages (e.g., Crestron, Extron) is a plus.
