In This Role, You'Ll:


Provide the technical and project management of Control systems and electrical systems works (including ITS) for motorways and road tunnels projects during development, design, and construction through to completion. This includes ensuring the project works are delivered to achieve TfNSW and Government road safety, asset management and network efficiency objectives.

As the Project Manager, Motorways Systems, you’ll be responsible for the ensuring delivery of the Operational Technology (OT) systems and Electrical equipment for the Motorway projects. These traffic, communications, road tunnel systems, fire and life safety and ventilation systems ensure our safe road network operations and the seamless systems integration of new control systems into the motorway systems federation. You will also assist in the development of Scope of Works and Technical Criteria (SWTC) specifications during tendering and deployment of new technologies and the use of motorway performance and analytics to deliver optimal outcomes for the people of NSW.

As this is a leadership role you will provide guidance and support to the team in the implementation process of ITS integrated systems while managing multiple, complex OT/ICT integration projects across a diverse range of stakeholders and systems. You will work closely with various disciplines across the organisation and teams to ensure the accuracy of your programs progress and the integrity of the data and information provided while maintaining and monitoring key activities and milestones.

This is a temp/ Opportunity until the 30th June 2029 with a require to be in the office 3 to 4 days per week based in Mascot and North Sydney offices.

You will:
•Manage a team of up to 4 project engineering resources deployed with the Motorway projects 

  • Ensure that the control systems and electrical/mechanical systems of motorway projects are implemented, operated, and maintained to time, cost, quality and scope
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to achieve common business objectives using systems engineering and systems safety assurance principles
  • Develop a collaborative relationships between the motorway operators, government and other stakeholders and facilitate effective resolution of issues and information exchange to meet customer expectations
  • Support the development of new Motorway projects strategies as well as development of Concept of Operations to support future strategies
  • Monitor and review the designs and methods of implementation of control systems and electrical/mechanical equipment for compliance within the assigned technical criteria, WHS and other technical and operational project requirements.

About You

  • Engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualification.  Preferable Electrical or related.
  • Demonstrated experience in in technical and commercial management and delivery of multiple and complex OT/ICT integration projects across a diverse range of stakeholders and systems for complex multi-disciplinary transport projects and preferably road tunnel projects.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in managing and driving strategic programs managing multiple concurrent projects to achieve key business outcomes.
  • Sound knowledge of systems engineering processes and application to the design, construction and operation of complex infrastructure.
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to deal tactfully, effectively in the resolution of issues with people / other parties at all levels and demonstrated capability with a focus on developing flexible and workable solutions to meet customer expectations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative client relationships
  • Design and implement innovative solutions, new technologies and systems.
