Director of Performance and Insights is a new position in the New Venture team for Prediction Markets. A fast moving, rapidly evolving new sector for FanDuel. As such this role will be agile, working very closely with the General Manager and Commercial Director to achieve our goal of being #1 in the Prediction Market space.

The Director will be responsible for all insights and analysis produced for our business. They will work closely with the Commercial arm of the team and with our B2B partner to develop actionable insight.

This team is a New Venture, as such, a huge part of this role will be agility in working across multiple initiatives and teams. There will need to be an ability to dive into detail and assist whilst also stepping back and making sure we are delivering against our strategy. Priorities will change as we capitalize on our momentum.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

  • THE GAME PLAN
  • Everyone on our team has a part to play
  • Lead the performance and insight areas for Prediction Markets. This includes management of team members but also heavy influence and virtual leadership of colleagues in central teams.
  • Present Prediction Market strategy, results, & recommendations to members of FanDuel ELT & other functional leaders with a focus on Group-wide impact & outcomes
  • Deliver analysis to explain historic and project future results & present findings to stakeholders in a concise manner
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Prediction Market space and be the industry expert
  • Critically assess performance of all areas of Prediction Markets, internal and external to identify areas of opportunity
  • Use & prepare data sets and a range of analytical tools and techniques to develop insights, identify trends and confidently answer questions about commercial performance
  • Lead your team to collaborate with key internal stakeholders and teams to set, monitor and report on targets for critical business functions
  • Manage and develop team members, supporting project teams with structuring analysis and developing hypotheses, as well as overall professional development and growth.
  • Generate, own & communicate project timelines and plans for commercial deliverables of projects within your team and to stakeholders

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • A minimum of 6+ years of relevant work experience in an analytical, commercial or strategy field
  • Bachelor's Degree in a highly numerate major (Math, Stats, Econ, etc.) or relevant experience in data and/or commercial analytics
  • Hands-on experience working autonomously to drive business growth, drawing on a mix of hard data and sensible assumptions.
  • Comfortable in the unknown, this is a new business venture for FanDuel and we will be working as a start up across the team
  • Highly analytical and able to consume large data sets and provide recommendations to senior ELT members of the FanDuel team
  • Experience developing models & understanding of a variety of modelling approaches to identify trends & forecast future customer and business behavior
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; skilled at influencing and building relationships, both internal Flutter and external 3rd parties, across the organization at all levels, including with senior leadership
  • Proven ability to apply critical thinking skills in reviewing & preparing data-driven insights
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated track record of influencing up, down and across organizations
  • Strong personal organizational and time management skills with an ability to juggle multiple complex projects
  • Experience collaboratively working with colleagues in other countries and time zones
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel and PowerPoint preferred

The applicable salary range for this position is $159,000 - $199,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
