Pay Range: $18.32 - $22.90/hr.

A Sr. Maintenance Worker job is available with the City of Fort Worth Environmental Services Department/Solid Waste Division. This position will lead crews on illegal camps, nuisance abatement cases, and special projects cleanups. Additionally, we will assist Sr. Code Officers with warrant requests on abatement properties. We will work with the PD Hope team on the E. Lancaster Corridor and other hot shots requests as needed. The position will have consistent interaction with the citizens of Fort Worth and the surrounding cities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma/GED
• Valid Texas Driver’s License
• Three (3) years of general maintenance and/or construction experience
• Must pass Drug Screen and Physical

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of experience with Sheriff Labor Detail and community service worker
• Truck hauling a trailer experience
• Tracker loader/skid steer experience
• Equipment preventive maintenance experience

The Senior Maintenance Worker job responsibilities include:

• Daily reporting on completed work orders.
• Transport equipment utilizing a pickup and trailer.
• Assist in leading maintenance workers.
• Preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to follow General Departmental/section policies and regulations.
• Ability to follow daily safety practices.
• Ability to input data into the Environmental software program (ISM).

Working Conditions

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.

Physical Demands

Heavy Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
