LearnUpon is looking for a Staff Data Analyst to join our team in Dublin. This is a hybrid role, working 3 days per week from LearnUpon's Dublin office.

As a Staff Data Analyst in the data group, you will be responsible for driving data driven decision making across our business, working across Customer Success, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Finance. As an expert in the field of BI and data analysis, we are looking to you help us design scalable solutions that get data to the right person at the right time, and in a form that is actionable. This might take the form of dashboards (and the dataflows those dashboards rely on), automation, alerts, through deep dives, or other ideas you bring to the table.
What will I be doing?
- Deliver high-impact analysis: Lead complex deep dives and analysis; and translate findings into exec-ready recommendations and actions.
- Build and scale self-service & reporting dashboards and data visualizations to track core metrics, enable the business to extract meaningful business insights and conduct Root Cause Analysis.
- Advise team on design and structure of dashboards, promote good practices for maintenance and scale.
- Build automation to support business use of data, such as automated decks, intelligent alerts, or scripted workflows.
- Evangelize data-driven culture and decision making across the company, and champion new areas in the company we can use data and automation to help the business.
- Mentor other Analysts and across the business on the use of data, best practices and support the ‘democratising of data’.
What skills do I need?
- 7+ years in analytics/BI with demonstrable ownership of metrics, complex analysis, and exec-level storytelling with data (SaaS a plus).
- Expert level SQL to analyze complex datasets with databases such as MySQL, Snowflake, Oracle, or Teradata.
- Proficiency with at least one programming language (e.g., R, Python) for analysis/automation.
- Proficiency designing and building dashboards or data visualizations.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Data Engineering: familiarity with data modeling patterns (star/marts), data pipelining concepts, and data quality practices.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to simplify complexity, influence without authority and drive business and technical discussions.
- Resourceful, creative, adaptable, and curious.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience defining semantic/metrics layers and self-serve governance.
- Experience with automation.
- Experience or interest in data governance and data privacy.

What is the Hiring Process?
Applicants for the position can expect the following hiring process:
- Qualified applicants will be invited to schedule a 30-minute recruiter call, followed by a 45 minute SQL coding interview.
- Successful candidates will then be invited to a series of 3 practical technical interviews, and then offered an opportunity to meet with our COO.
- Successful candidates will be contacted with an offer to join our team.
