Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Directs activities for a team of software development engineers, providing guidance and mentorship, and setting performance goals to contribute to the company's business objectives.
- Develops strategy for software development projects, defining project requirements, timelines, and deliverables to drive effective execution.
- Facilitates risk assessments by troubleshooting production issues, assessing available resources, and providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Directs department throughout the software development life cycle operations, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Ensures the department adheres to best practices, quality standards, and industry trends.
- Collaborates with multiple cross-functional teams, including product managers and business stakeholders, aligning priorities, resolving conflicts, and maintaining productive relationships.
- Researches and evaluates the latest software development technologies, methodologies, and industry trends, capitalizing on innovative technology solutions and integrating best options.
- Delivers expert technical guidance, makes informed decisions, and supports the team when faced with complex challenges.
- Hires software development engineers, conducts performance reviews, and fosters a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes continuous learning opportunities.
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years relevant experience including 2+ years experience of leading projects or managing directs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills
- Adept at business intelligence
- Adept at collaboration and teamwork
- Mastery of problem solving and decision making skills
- Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills
- Software Engineering Master Certification (SEMC) preferred.
- Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $236,900.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
