We are currently looking for a Data Scientist Intern to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI.
A Day In The Life:
- Preparing / Transforming data using Nissan’s Big Data Platform AWS EMR (Presto/Hive SQL/Python), Snowflake SQL/Python
- Summarizing / Describing data using classical statistical methods
- Dimensional reduction involves simplifying data by reducing the number of features /variables while preserving the most important information. When working with large datasets, we often collect more data than we need. To make the data more manageable and focused, we apply filtering and reduction techniques that retain the most relevant pieces.
- Predictive modeling involves building a model that learns patterns from historical data to predict future behavior or outcomes. Basically, we use data with known outcomes to train a model that can then make logical predictions or classifications on new, unseen data.
- Creating dashboards (Tableau / HTML) to allow non-experts to interact with data
Who We’Re Looking For:
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Machine Learning: Data Mining / Neural Networks / Predictive Modeling / Classical Statistical Modeling
- Data Engineering: SQL/Python/R/Other
- Data Visualization: Tableau/Python/Other
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Ability to perform work onsite in Farmington Hills, MI
