What You’ll Be Doing
As an Executive Director within the Corporate Solutions Group, you’ll be responsible for the origination and distribution of metal products in Europe. You’ll provide coverage leadership to clients within Global Markets by providing subject matter expertise, developing strategies that increase the distribution of financial and physical metal products, and by identifying and pursuing growth opportunities in new jurisdictions aligned with CIBC’s risk appetite. Your mandate includes expanding our business, broadening our client base, and proactively assessing market trends and regulatory environments. You’ll support clients in the metal refining industry and ensure dedicated client coverage across your geographic area. In this role, you’ll collaborate with a production-focused sales team to help CIBC achieve its purpose of being the lead relationship bank for key clients globally.
Key Accountabilities
- Build and maintain a network of strategic relationships of metals clients including corporates, commercial clients, refiners, and other treasuries
- Primary and Secondary coverage of designated clients
- Client Onboarding, KYC/AML and trade documentation
- Marketing of financial and physical metal products
- Distribution and discussion of CIBC research
- Identifying opportunities in new geographies and industry verticals
- Trade execution
- Credit and Risk limit checks
- Develop product and market technical knowledge and understanding
- Develop and maintain cross functional relationships

How You’Ll Succeed
- Relationship building - Collaborate with the sales team, traders, Corporate Banking, and Investment Banking to develop effective solutions and ensure the timely execution of transactions.
- Leadership - Provide strategic insights and drive operational efficiency within the Metals business.
- Client engagement - Deliver product and rate information to clients promptly and provide exemplary service; originate and develop new client relationships in targeted jurisdictions.
- Business development - Identify and pursue new business opportunities and expand CIBC’s presence in new markets and jurisdictions, in alignment with the company’s risk appetite.
- Market analysis - Monitor and analyze market activities and economic factors throughout the day to respond quickly and effectively to client requests.
- Subject matter expertise – Serve as a subject matter expert in metal products, educating peers and supporting clients with transition-specific opportunities.
Who You Are
- You have deep expertise. You can demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of related experience in the metals market, including experience with physical metals, interest rate derivatives, financial statement analysis, and funding/debt management. You have strong overall knowledge of Capital Markets and the financial services regulatory environment.
- You’re a certified professional. You have an undergraduate degree, MBA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation
- You are an accountable and collaborative leader. You are a self-driven leader, independently managing and growing your business portfolio while building strong relationships and driving business outcomes through collaboration.
- You’re goal oriented. You have a proven track record of delivering results and are motivated by accomplishing your goals.
- You give meaning to data. You have excellent analytical and intellectual capabilities, and you use your strategic thinking to identify and capitalize on trends and opportunities. You are skilled in drafting comprehensive presentations using advanced frameworks in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
