Job Description

Summary

  • We are seeking a motivated high school student with a strong interest in engineering and technology to join our Wireless Conformance Testing team. This internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to real-world engineering practices, test methodologies, and laboratory work in the field of wireless communications.
  • The intern will assist engineers and test technicians with projects related to wireless device evaluation, test setup, and documentation, while learning the fundamentals of wireless standards (LTE, 5G, Etc.).
  • This opportunity is ideal for students considering an engineering degree and looking to gain valuable experience in a professional technical environment.

Reporting Line

Directly reports to the Lab Supervisor, Lab Manager, or Branch Manager

Job Functions

  • Support engineering staff with test setup and equipment preparation (under supervision).
  • Assist in data collection, entry, and organization of test results.
  • Help with basic troubleshooting and verification of test equipment connectivity.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness, cable management, and equipment labeling.
  • Shadow engineers to learn wireless conformance testing processes and industry standards.
  • Ensure completion of all assigned work and relevant documentation in accordance with required procedures and standards to fulfill SGS quality requirements.  

Qualifications

Education And Experience

Required:

  • Current high school student (junior or senior year preferred) with strong interest in engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of math, physics, or electronics (school coursework acceptable).
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Familiarity with computers and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with the team.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Language Skills: English - Intermediate level Required
  • Mathematical Skills: Intermediate level Required
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis Preferred
  • Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Intermediate level Required
  • Highly organized Required
  • Strong logical thinking/skills Required
  • Intend to major in BSEE / Telecom Preferred

Computer Skills

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word) - Intermediate user proficiency Required
