Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) offers transportation services like FTL (Full Truckload), LTL (Less Than Truckload), brokerage, cross-border trucking, groupage, and sortation hubs, connecting Maersk or Customer warehouses or depots or cross-dock/consolidation/deconsolidation facilities through a robust network led by best-in-class operations and technology. This integrated network will service multi-channels like B2B, B2C, B2B2C, e-commerce, direct to store, dropship, returns, and more, leveraging asset-based, asset-light, and non-asset models.

Summary: The Operations Manager monitors all operations, including but not limited to processing shipments, preparing paperwork, communicating freight status, and dispatching drivers for pickup. The manager will be the primary interface between Pilot Freight Services, customers, sales, system operations, and vendors and provide quality customer service while meeting company policies and procedures.

• Responsibilities: 
• ●    Freight handling via forklift Assist District Manager with general tasks
• ●    Responsible for ensuring safe operations as well as compliance with all OSHA regulations, all applicable laws, and Pilot’s Corporate Policies
• ●    Effectively train, supervise, coach and evaluate all direct reports to foster good communications and morale
• ●    Reviews operational key performance measures monthly as well as benchmarking data to drive any required correctional or improvement strategies
• ●    Responsible for ongoing process analysis of operational systems, procedures, and staffing to drive continuous improvement in operating efficiencies
• ●    Oversee the warehouse operations including supervising direct reports
• ●    Overseeing all aspects of the Operations Department and employees
• ●    Delegating duties and responsibilities
• ●    Communicating freight status and any problems to custom
• ●    Load/Off-load build trucks for optimal routing
• ●    Operations manager is responsible for all the domestic KPI’s stations
• ●    Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:                            
Manages up to 6 subordinate supervisors who supervise 50+ employees in the Special Projects, Shipping and Receiving, Packing, Order Processing, Routing, Inventory, and Auditing departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.

• Qualifications:                              
• •    Minimum of five (5) years in Operations Management, preferably in transportation and logistics, crossdock, and/or LTL.
• •    High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• •    Excellent organizational and management skills
• •    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• •    Must have superior organizational and time management skills
• •    Strong understanding of logistics, LTL, and/or crossdock processes and procedures
• •    Experience with inventory management and supply chain management
• •    Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
• •    Proficiency in using logistics software and systems
• •    Ability to read key elements of financial statements in support of functional role responsibilities
• •    Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
• •    Must be approachable and motivated
• •    Strong problem-solving abilities

Scheduled Shift:

Tuesday-Saturday - 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM

Pay Range:

$80,000 - $90,000*

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.  The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
