Job Description
What is the opportunity?
As the Director, Rates Trader Fixed Income, you will be responsible for providing liquidity in rates to Asian clients and manage risk.
What will you do?
- Make markets and manage resultant risk in Rates products during Asian hours in their respective global books, maximizing monetization of client flows and P&L for FRT trading books.
- Liaise closely with London, NY, and Toronto based Rates traders on all matters from flows, risk, pricing, liquidity, axes, issues etc.
- Develop Rates franchise and client relationships in Asia Pacific through working with sales staff, client interaction, marketing trips and trade idea generation.
- Managing and mentoring junior traders, helping them to grow with our franchise.
- Establish good relationships with counterparties and keep management abreast of any significant market trends and developments.
- Maximize and optimize internally generated flow.
- Contribute to Europe and North American Rates books annual budget revenue targets. The following responsibilities apply to you in your role as a Front Office Trader.
- Proactively identify operational risks/control deficiencies in the business
- Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
- Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.
- Identify, assist and manage operational risks/control deficiencies in the business.
- Work to prevent, to detect, and to eliminate the potential for risk and liability to the Firm.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have
- Degree or equivalent is required.
- The role would typically require 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Trader with 2 years or more of relevant experience and a strong background in pricing and risk managing G10 interest rates products.
- Ambition and drive are essential to grow the business, and communication at all levels is a key requirement.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Accountable for locally managing global overnight Rates risk and P&L.
- Team player, self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills.
- Singapore Regulatory papers.
- US and Canadian Licenses.
