Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Currently, we are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager, focusing on general financial planning activities, business partnering for R&D programs, as well as ESG (environmental, social and governance) reporting. As our new FP&A Manager, you will become a part of our Finance & Accounting team, reporting to the Head of FP&A. Our team’s purpose is to support value creation through efficient, high quality and user centric financial processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, as well as external and internal stakeholders to deliver on your key areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Business Partnering with selected R&D projects. Zealand Pharma is investing in the development of peptide-based drugs in the area of obesity, rare diseases and inflammation. In this role, you will business partner, control and support specific R&D projects. This means advising and supporting on all related financial matters, including month end close activities, the projects’ budgets and long-term strategic plans.
- Contributing as part of the team to the overall Zealand Pharma’s annual Budget exercise, as well as the forecasting activities.
- Finance lead for ESG matters, which entails managing project activities to ensure the company meets all internal and external requirements, leading the efforts to collect and automate the reporting of required data (including with external partners such as banks), business partner with our ESG Officer, and eventually contribute to the company’s overall ESG journey, ESG targets as well as a successful Annual Report delivery.
- Contributing to optimization of internal processes to make life easier for ourselves and our colleagues, including advanced data management systems e.g. Power BI.
- Contribute with in-depth analyses to support forward-looking decision making, including scenario building and business steering.
- Create compelling and storytelling business presentations to a non-finance audience.
Candidate Profile
You bring a sound understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial processes, while having a good business acumen. Digital savvy comes natural to you since you will be promoting modern digital finance reporting tools.
We imagine that you have solid presentation skills and an expanded level of knowledge using Excel and PowerPoint. You have proven stakeholder management skills, and you are comfortable working cross-functionally, being a positive challenger to the organization asking the ‘why’ and ‘how’ questions, capable of smooth internal negotiations, and being a trusted partner to the organization.
Finally, you share the team’s values and display the right proactive and solution-focused mindset, which is as important as experience and competencies.
Qualifications:
- Relevant educational background in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of proven experience in FP&A and/or Business Partnering
- Interest in the ESG area, with past exposure to the matter being a plus.
- Analytical mindset and a structured way of thinking
- A pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Digital reporting tools such as Power BI is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
- English fluency written and spoken
