As a Human Resources Compliance Specialist, your essential job functions will include the following:
Compliance
- Collaborate with Legal to:
- Monitor, interpret, and assess evolving employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements and their impact on the Company.
- Ensure timely and accurate understanding of legislative changes and translate legal guidance into actionable HR strategies.
- Make recommendations on policy changes regarding changes in federal, state, and local law.

- Collaborate with HR Key stakeholders and the business to:
- Develop strategic communication plans that effectively convey compliance updates and policy changes.
- Lead the design and execution of rollout strategies for new or updated compliance initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
- Ensure consistent messaging and implementation of compliance-related programs.
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously, meet strict deadlines without exception, and drive cross-functional alignment across the Dealer Tire Family of Companies, HR stakeholders, Legal, and the business.
- Manage the DTFOC OSHA programs. Ensure compliance with annual reporting and posting obligations.
- Maintain and administer company policies and guidelines (key resource and member of team on policy development).
- Draft and modify policies, standard operating procedures and/or other process documentation that comply with company policy and government regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory authorities by engaging with counsel on requirements.
- Proactively scans the environment for trends and emerging legislation to identify issues, recommend process implementation/updates to management; keeps abreast of current labor laws, regulations, and supervisory guidance.
- Maintain the intranet site with all associate communication materials required for compliance.
- Prepare and execute on periodic government reporting requirements.
- Develop strategic communication plans that effectively convey compliance updates and policy changes.
- Lead the design and execution of rollout strategies for new or updated compliance initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
- Ensure consistent messaging and implementation of compliance-related programs.
Program & Vendor Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance tracking processes/audits for HR programs to ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, accuracy, and timelines.
- Manages multiple HR vendors making sure processes and instructions are being carried out as contracted or agreed upon.
- Maintain and enhance existing programs; collaborate with others to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues.
People Support
- Provide first level of response to incoming questions from associates and managers and provide guidance and interpretation of policies, ensuring fair and consistent administration of policies and compliance with state and federal employment regulations.
- Lead and participate in a variety of projects to support the People department (e.g. policy updates, HR process improvement, SOP development, etc.).

Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or human resources, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of related Human Resources experience.
- Knowledge of labor and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Customer-focused, self-starter.
- Ability to prioritize and well organized.
- Proven ability to manage projects and meet deadlines while maintaining high quality.
- Proven ability to keep confidence and deal with confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and maturity.
- Ability to work successfully as individual contributor and team member.
- Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for long periods of time.
- Continuous viewing from and inputting data to a computer screen.
- Travel as required, <10%.
