General Overview:
This position is responsible for the strategic implementation of supply chain initiatives and operational management throughout AHN hospitals and surgery centers. The Materials Manager will engage various business stakeholders across multiple locations, and act as the onsite liaison for supply chain management related activities. The position utilizes data and technology to implement, monitor and control multiple complex supply chain activities within acute and ambulatory health care institutions. Provides supervision to the various Material Management teams, operating functions, and systems to deliver optimized service and inventory performance results. This calls for planning, organizing, and evaluating department resources and systems with emphasis on inventory management, supply distribution, receiving, linen management, procurement related tasks, mailroom operations, recall program management and vendor visitation.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory stocking strategies and performance measurements through data analysis, originating from multiple system applications. Create and update performance goals for supervisors, leads, inventory coordinators and operational teams throughout the distributed service locations. Publish/present inventory strategies and controls to installed user base and facility leadership teams. Establish alignment between serviced locations and procurement, contracting and distribution operations in relation to customer needs.
- Hire, coach, develop, deploy, and evaluate staff to achieve high levels of service to installed customer bases. Plan, organize and direct staff in day-to-day operations throughout all spans of control and shifts. Create career development and retention programs to engage and develop supply chain employee workforce and new leaders. Create career laddering opportunities through ongoing coaching, in service education, on-the-job training and performance evaluations.
- Deploy facility controls to ensure inventory and supply spend accountability is established and monitored. Review inventory utilization data; audit inventory system information systems and inventory carrying levels on recurring basis. Work in concert with facility finance leadership and department leadership teams to control facility inventory and supply spend.
- Establish and lead facility-based supply chain project plans from ideation to completion, utilizing efficient supply chain management practices. Report out project accomplishments and milestones throughout lifecycle to appropriate business stakeholders.
- Responsible for developing, monitoring, and owning departmental budgets supporting the various staff and processes managed within each serviced facility including, inventory management, linen management, mailroom, courier activities.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and departments. Understand and promote customer needs, identify issues, and escalate through supply chain for appropriate resolution. Represent AHN supply chain as on-site subject matter expert for supply/logistics related activities and strategy.
- Maintain adherence and updated knowledge of all organizational, federal, state, and local regulatory bodies including, but not limited to, the PA Department of Health, OSHA, DOT and the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. Includes Overseeing and maintaining facility’s recall management system, to include educating, maintaining, monitoring, and addressing non-compliance across multiple service locations.

Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance or Business Administration OR 12 years of progressive supply chain experience in lieu of degree
- 5 years experience in Excel
- 5 years experience in Inventory control
- 3 years experience in Progressive leadership experience
- 3 years experience in Management or leadership role
Preferred
- 7 years experience in Supply Chain experience
- (Lean) Six Sigma - Counsel for Six Sigma Certification
Skills:
