Senior Systems Administrator

Duties/Responsibilities:

. As a Systems Administrator Sr Advisor you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Systems Administrator Sr Advisor joining our team to maintain an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software.

  • Provide hands-on support for network infrastructure, system configurations, hardware components, and enterprise software environments.
  • Administer and maintain Network Management Systems (NMS), including SolarWinds servers, modules, and monitoring tools.
  • Perform Tier 2 troubleshooting and remediation for software updates, patch deployments, and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Develop and apply NMS configuration standards, topology maps, and baseline templates across Tier 1 environments.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems and layered software packages across physical and virtual machines.
  • Monitor system metrics and apply performance tuning techniques to optimize throughput and resource allocation.
  • Implement fault-tolerant software and hardware solutions to maintain data integrity across distributed systems.
  • Execute automated and manual backup routines and database archiving to ensure recoverability and continuity.
  • Perform technical tasks in support of system upgrades, OS migrations, and deployment of new infrastructure components.
  • Maintain technical documentation for system changes, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct compliance audits of system hardware/software against security baselines and configuration standards.
  • Validate system performance and security posture to meet operational and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Configure and operate business systems across mainframe, mini, and client/server architectures in local and remote environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system-level hardware and software faults across enterprise platforms.
  • Analyze system capacity trends and generate forecasts for compute, memory, and storage requirements.
  • Establish and maintain system baselines; evaluate impacts of changes, upgrades, and replacements.
  • Build staging environments that replicate production systems for testing and validation purposes.
  • Test patches, updates, and configuration changes in staging; submit for approval prior to production rollout.
  • Assess legacy systems and contribute to modernization strategies and technical roadmap development.
  • Provide technical support to users for accessing and operating enterprise systems and applications.
  • Share technical expertise with junior administrators through documentation, walkthroughs, and troubleshooting sessions.
  • Lead technical execution of assigned tasks, including configuration, deployment, and validation activities.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics or business/finance.

Experience: This position requires a minimum of five years’ experience, of which at least three years must be specialized experience in administrating computer systems. General experience includes operations experience on a large-scale computer system or a multi-server local area network.

Certifications:

  • DoDD 8570.01 IAT-II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE), Windows Server (e.g., MCSA or higher) Enterprise level Certification AND/OR SolarWinds certifications.

Additional Requirements: Candidate must meet Germany TESA requirements as follows:

Germany:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of recent specialized experience; or
  • Associates Degree and seven (7) years of recent specialized experience; or
  • No degree and 11 years or recent specialized experience.

The likely salary range for this position is $91,811 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
