This position is responsible for the management of in-process product quality, productivity and costs through the application of various systematic process engineering and quality control methods/programs such as Six Sigma, SPC, SQC, LIMS (Laboratory Information Data System) and Process Control System (MPCS).   

이 직책은 Six Sigma, SPC, SQC, LIMS (Laboratory Information Data System), Process Control System(MPCS), SAS Analytics Tool 및 공정 제어와 같은 다양한 체계적 Process engineering 및 품질 관리 방법 / 프로그램의 적용을 통해 공정 내 제품 품질, 생산성을 관리를 담당합니다. 

Production Engineer will collaborate with other functional teams and the Manufacturing Engineering teams at the other global locations to drive production excellence. 

생산 엔지니어는 다른 Functional 팀 및 다른 글로벌 공장의 생산 엔지니어링 팀과 협력하여 생산 우수성을 주도 할 것입니다. 

The Manufacturing Engineer will communicate with Global Production, Global Engineering, Korea Sales and CQE (Customer Quality Engineer) to support NPIs (New Product Introductions) and to resolve any customer complaint & or product quality issues.  

생산 엔지니어는 글로벌 생산, 글로벌 엔지니어링, 한국 영업 및 CQE (고객 품질 엔지니어)와 소통하여 NPI (신제품 소개)를 지원하고 고객 불만 및 제품 품질 문제를 해결합니다. 

Maintain daily presence in production to achieve the following outcomes 

다음 결과를 달성하기 위해 Daily로 생산 공정 관리 

• Supervision of manufacturing process and monitoring of operation. 

 생산 프로세스 감독 및 운영 모니터링. 

• Identifying and closing gaps and failure modes that could lead to off-quality product. 

  품질이 떨어지는 제품으로 이어질 수 있는 문제점 및 실패 모드를 식별하고 개선 

• Maintain focus on safety, health, and environmental practices and minimization of process hazards. 

  환경, 건강 및 안전 문화와 프로세스 위험 최소화에 중점 

• Investigate any out-of-control occurrences within the process to identify the root cause and implement necessary solutions to prevent recurrence. 

프로세스 내에서 Out of control 발생을 조사하여 근본 원인을 찾고 재발 방지하는데 필요한 솔루션 구현  

• Update process parameter control limits at defined intervals and lead teams to maintain necessary production documents such as FMEA's, PSSR, control plans, in-process testing procedures, and batch card recipes. 

프로세스 parameter control limit을 업데이트 하고 FMEA's, PSSR, control plans, in-process testing procedures, and batch card recipes 등과 같이 팀이 필요한 생산 문서를 유지 및 개선 

• Help train operation associates on new process steps and importance of quality practices 

현장 인원에 대해서 새로운 프로세스 단계 및 품질 관리의 중요성에 대한 교육 지원 

Support other functional groups within Korean as follows 

한국내의 내부 고객 (다른 부서)를 지원 

• Quality – Lead Six Sigma projects designed to reduce variability and minimize off-quality and out-of-control incidents. Also maintain high quality standards in production process. 

Quality - 변동성을 줄이고 off-quality 및 out-of-control 를 최소화하도록 설계된 Six Sigma 프로젝트 리드하고 생산 공정에서 고품질 표준을 유지. 

• Business – Optimize each process as much as possible to cut costs and maximize saleable product, using Lean methods and other process engineering expertise. 

Business – Lean 방법 및 기타 프로세스 엔지니어링 전문 지식을 사용하여 각 프로세스를 최대한 최적화하여 비용을 절감하고 판매 가능한 제품을 극대화 

• Customer Team – Support all customer inquiries or excursions by doing detailed data analysis of production data and finding links to customer performance issues. Implement any necessary corrective actions in a timely manner. 

Customer Team – 생산 데이터에 대한 자세한 데이터 분석을 수행하고 고객 성능 문제에 대한 링크를 찾아 모든 고객 문의를 지원. 필요한 시정 조치를 적시에 구현 

• Manufacturing – Work closely with operation associates, shift supervisors, and operation managers to train and inspire production floor staff to follow procedures and understand the impact of their actions. 

Manufacturing – 운영 직원, 교대 감독자 및 운영 관리자와 긴밀히 협력하여 생산 현장 직원이 절차를 따르고 해당 작업의 영향을 이해하도록 교육하고 격려. 

Support to commercialize new products as they enter High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) 

대량 생산에 들어가는 신제품 상용화 지원 (HVM) 

• Partner with Commercialization Team to scale-up new products from pilot plant to HVM. 

Commercialization 팀과 협력하여 파일럿 플랜트에서 HVM으로 신제품을 생산 

• Support capital projects where necessary to implement new products or processes. 

새로운 제품이나 프로세스를 구현하는 데 필요한 Capital 프로젝트 지원 

• Manage all aspects of the HVM production of experimental products, ensuring a smooth transition for our customers as we move from pilot plant to HVM scale. 

Pilot plant 에서 HVM 규모로 상용화할 때 고객의 원활한 전환을 지원하기 위해 Qualification 제품의 HVM 생산을 관리. 

• Conduct necessary engineering calculations to size pumps, set mixing speeds, etc., to provide first-time success when producing new products in HVM. 

HVM에서 신제품을 생산할 때 처음으로 성공할 수 있도록 필요한 엔지니어링 계산 수행. 

• Optimize production process in terms of defining sampling points & frequency, choosing value-added in-process test protocols, and working closely with the control systems team to define all control schemes (PLC control loops, control parameter settings, loop tuning success criteria, etc.) 

샘플링 포인트 및 frequency 정의, value-added in-process test protocols 선택하여 control systems team과 긴밀히 협력하여 all control schemes 정의 및 생산 프로세스 최적화 (PLC control loops, control parameter settings, loop tuning success criteria, etc.)

The Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for driving improvement activities, problem identification/resolution and new process introduction in Korea plant.

• Drive continuous improvement programs for quality and productivity 

• 품질과 생산성을 위한 지속적인 개선 프로그램 추진 

• Drive root cause investigations/corrective actions against quality and productivity problem 

• 품질 및 생산성 문제에 대한 근본 원인 조사 / 시정 조치 추진 

• Support and drive 6 Sigma projects 

6 시그마 프로젝트 지원 및 추진 

• Drive Best-Practice sharing/transfer among other manufacturing sites  

다른 manufacturing sites 간의 모범 사례 공유 / transfer 추진 

• Support new products introductions working with commercialization engineers 

commercialization engineers 와 함께 신제품(NPI) 소개 지원 

• Periodically monitor key metrics and develop/execute plan for improvement 

주요 지표를 정기적으로 모니터링하고 개선 계획을 개발 / 실행 

• Support customer quality engineering team for customer complaint resolution 

고객 불만 해결을 위한 customer quality engineering team 지원 

• Support all corporate EH&S and Quality initiatives.

Position Requirements / 직위 요건

• Understanding on statistical or Sigma tools  

• Technical Presentation Skills

• Engineering knowledge with mixing, pumping, and colloidal suspensions or emulsion chemistry.  
• Effective oral and written communication skills in both English and Korean 
• Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and statistical software such as Minitab and SAS. 

• Other Important Skills:

• Compiling and analyzing large, complex data sets 
• Building technical reports and spreadsheets 
• Flexibility and attention to detail under pressure from customers or deadlines 
• Initiative and strong team orientation 
• Understanding of how to calculate manufacturing costs, production capacity, impact on business (P/L), and ROI 
• Planning, prioritizing & goal setting skills 

Business:

• Cultural awareness; must develop strong working relationship with colleagues in other sites 
• Must be flexible for communications with personnel in different time zone 
• Basic understanding of CMP process and semiconductor customers is preferred 

Experience:

Experience with multi-product, batch chemical operations is highly preferred. 

Six Sigma GB certificate is preferred 

Statistical tools (SAS Analytics, Minitab etc) is preferred  

Language:  Proficient English communication skills (Verbal & Written) 

Education: Minimum BS Engineering or related technical field; BS Chemistry, Chemical Engineering preferred
