Job Description:
Purpose Of The Job
As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives across departments in our rapidly expanding and increasingly automated distribution center in Machelen. You will link data, processes, and people to identify and implement sustainable improvements, foster a Lean culture, and support the site’s transformation journey.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional process improvement projects using Lean and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Analyze complex operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, root causes, and improvement opportunities and then convert these insights into practical, results-driven actions
- Develop meaningful KPI’s and maintain related dashboards to monitor performance and progress.
- Lead or support the digitization of workflows and automation of reporting processes using tools such as PowerApps, PowerBI, Alteryx.
- Support the implementation and optimization of automation technologies and digital tools.
- Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, IT, and Support to implement (data-driven) solutions.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Act as a change agent, promoting Lean principles and engaging teams in improvement efforts.
- Apply project management principles to plan, execute, and monitor initiatives aligned with business goals
- Challenge existing processes and assumptions to drive innovation. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance operational capabilities.
- Lead budget planning by tracking project-related expenditures, proactively following up on cost drivers, identifying cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
- Create business cases for proposed improvements, present them to Sr Leadership and relevant stakeholders, and lead the implementation of approved solutions.
- Ensuring that activities are carried out according to applicable internal and external processes, procedures and guidelines (Quality, Environment, Safety, Health).

Education & Competencies
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Economics, Industrial Management, or equivalent through experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in operational excellence, process engineering, or continuous improvement roles.
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with experience in tools such as Power BI, PowerApps, Excel, Alteryx, Business Objects, Visio and automation platforms.
- Experienced in process mapping, trend analysis, and applying basic statistics to drive insights
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt preferred; Black Belt to be pursued).
- Fluent in English; Dutch or French is a strong asset.
- Hands-on, proactive, and structured approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a dynamic, international environment.
- Strategic thinker with strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across regional and global teams
