Our Purpose
At our Packaging & Labelling (P&L) Engineering Department in Medtronic, plc, we focus on the development of cutting-edge medical device packaging across Medtronic. Packaging Engineers are directly involved in working on the development of innovative packaging for use in medical procedures, as part of the R&D team. Medtronic Packaging R&D is seeking an experienced engineer to focus on all stages of the development process from concept generation through to commercialisation.

A Day in the life of:
- You will contribute to and partner with the New Product Development (NDP) functions to define, execute and deliver on NPD requirements.
- You will participate in the development of packaging components and assemblies for medical devices.
- You will participate in sourcing, testing and approving materials.
- Supports verification, validation, and implementation of package systems for both design and process development.
- Support technical root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Develops technical documentation including design specs, input requirements, validations and technical reports in accordance with quality system requirements.
- Utilises knowledge of FDA and ISO requirements related to packaging and labelling, ensuring robust package validation and qualification.
- Utilise project management skills to gain alignment, lead cross functional teams, and drive continuous improvement projects that focus on “best in class” outcomes.
- You will utilise functional excellence in packaging development following Design for Reliability and Manufacturability practices (DRM), 3D Software Design (SolidWorks, FEA), Statistics (Minitab) along with Project Management techniques.
Key Skills & Experience
- We are looking for a qualified person with a minimum Level 8 Degree in Engineering/Science or related discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
- We are looking for a dynamic team player who can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams.
- We are looking for individuals with experience in biomedical materials, processing knowledge and medical device design procedures.
- We are looking for individuals with a proven track record in innovative design, product development and manufacturing.
- We are looking for a good communicator and fluency in English, both in writing and speaking.
