Mission Description
- To perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy vehicles such as trucks, buses, construction equipment, and trailers to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulations.
- The successful applicant will be responsible for the following key result areas: -
- 1. Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- a.) Assess requirement and propose in consultation with workshop manager the specifications for parts and materials needed and duration of the repairs and maintenance.
- b.) Conduct routine servicing and preventive maintenance.
- c.) Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- d.) Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
- e.) Account for materials and parts used
- f.) Rescue trucks on transit on need basis
- 2.Inspection & Diagnostics
- a.) Perform inspections to identify wear and tear or potential issues.
- b.) Use diagnostic tools and software to assess vehicle performance.
- 3. Documentation & Reporting
- a.) Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history.
- b.) Report major faults or recurring issues to supervisors.
- 4.Compliance & Safety
- a.) Ensure all repairs meet safety and regulatory standards.
- b.) Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures.
- 5 Inventory & Tools Management
- a.) Manage tools and equipment responsibly.
- b.) Observe security and safety measures of all tools,
- c.) Request parts and supplies as needed.
- 6.Team Collaboration
- a.) Work with other mechanics and departments to ensure timely vehicle availability.
- b.) Provide technical guidance to junior staff if required.
- 7. Carry out assigned mechanical works
Profile
- 1. Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
- 2. 4 years working experience as a Mechanic
