GSK Apprenticeships are full-time entry level opportunities that offer ITE graduates the opportunity to begin their career while studying towards nationally recognised qualifications – a Work-Study Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, fully funded by GSK.

Education required: Nitec in Chemical Process Technology/Mechanical Technology/Electrical Technology (GPA>2.0) OR Higher Nitec in Biotechnology/Chemical Technology/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Other Requirement:

  • If offered a position, the candidate must be willing to enroll with GSK’s partnering educational institution, in the preferred related instruction course
  • Must be able to commute daily to the GSK manufacturing facility and to the education institution when required for classes

Expected start date: February 2026

We are looking for highly motivated ITE graduates with an interest in science and engineering who are looking to kickstart their career in the pharmaceutical industry. The apprenticeship programme allows you to develop hands-on technical skills while continuing your education.

Within our Global Supply Chain (GSC) business, we manufacture and supply reliable, high-quality medicines and vaccines to meet patients’ needs and drive our performance.

Our network of 37 medicines and vaccines manufacturing sites delivered 1.7 billion packs of medicines and 409 million vaccine doses in 2024 to help make a positive impact on the health of millions of people. Our supply chain is not just core to our operations; it’s vital to bringing our innovations to patients as quickly, efficiently and effectively as possible. Technology is transforming how we manufacture medicines and vaccines, enabling us to increase the speed, quality and scale of product supply.

This entry-level development opportunity offers you the chance to study towards nationally recognized qualifications while gaining hands-on, paid on-the-job training. Our apprentices will take up studies towards a Work-Study Diploma in Chemical Process Technology while working at a GSK Pharmaceutical Manufacturing facility in Singapore. 

You Will:

  • Spend time working in our manufacturing facility learning how to operate and maintain the different equipment and utility systems that support our pharmaceutical production from our in-house industry experts.
  • Learn safety and risk management to ensure all equipment is operated safely and efficiently so that we can deliver medicines and vaccines to patients across the world. 
  • Have a dedicated personal training programme to help you develop and progress over the 30 months of the apprenticeship

What will you experience?

As a manufacturing technician apprentice, you will learn to; 

  • Operate and maintain equipment in the manufacture and packaging of our pharmaceutical products 
  • Support the operation of solvent recovery and effluent treatment processes that support manufacturing processes 
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting breakdowns
  • Optimize processes by participating in continuous improvement projects
  • Carry out First touch engineering - root cause analysis and solving breakdowns
  • Collect, analyse and trend data to drive innovation
  • Assisting in new product and equipment introductions
  • Ensuring quality, safety and accuracy in all that we do
