Job Description Summary:

This position will work with a faculty investigator whose research focuses on mothers and infants with prenatal substance-exposure, child protection policies and systems, and family treatment courts. This position will aid the investigator in a wide variety of project tasks including manage study participants and data collection, oversee IRB protocols and communications, manage databases, generate reports, assist with administrative tasks and complete literature reviews.

Job Duties Outlined:

  • Data entry and database management.
  • Statistical analysis in STATA and interpretation.
  • Data Collection/Participant Interviews.

  • Create and manage REDCap databases.
  • Manage study participants, retention communications, and incentives.
  • Communications (meetings, emails) with research team, sponsoring agencies, IRB, etc.
  • Prepare IRB protocols, associated documents, and forms.
  • Oversee IRB communications and deadlines.
  • Conduct literature reviews and contribute to papers and presentations.
  • Generate and edit data tables.
  • Edit reports and publications.
  • Assist in administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications

Education: Six years of relevant experience in public health, psychology, economics, social work or related discipline.  Education may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Work Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience working on federally funded human subjects’ research.

Preferred Qualifications

Work Experience:

  • Experience in child welfare and/or substance use practice.
  • Experience with STATA or SPSS for data analysis.
  • Experience using Mosio and REDCap.
  • Experience with policy research.
  • Record of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Experience in presenting research.
  • Competence using Google Scholar and library resources to conduct literature reviews.

Skills

  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills.
  • Exceptional focus on details.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
