Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Business Planning Manager to join our dynamic team. The Business Planning Manager will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our strategic and operational planning processes. This role requires a strong understanding of business fundamentals, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and clear strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment with company goals and drive sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the annual strategic planning cycle, including market analysis, competitive assessment, and identification of key growth opportunities. Develop long-term strategic plans and roadmaps in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Financial Modeling & Analysis: Build and maintain sophisticated financial models (e.g., P&L, balance sheet, cash flow forecasts) to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and operational planning. Conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance and key business drivers.
  • Operational Planning: Facilitate the development of actionable operational plans that align with strategic objectives. Monitor progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement.
  • Cost Planning & Profit Maximization

Collaborate with Japan headquarters to align individual product profit margins with overall profit and targets.

Ensure precise cost calculation for each product through meticulous data management and in-depth understanding of product specifications, designs, and manufacturing processes.

Drive profit maximization by analyzing current performance, identifying key cost drivers, and coordinating strategic follow-up actions with relevant departments.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with finance and department heads to develop comprehensive annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts. Analyze variances and provide insights to optimize resource allocation.
  • Market Research & Intelligence: Conduct thorough market research, analyze industry trends, and monitor competitor activities to inform business strategies and identify potential risks or opportunities.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance) to ensure cohesive planning, effective execution, and alignment on business objectives.
  • Performance Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations to senior management on business performance, strategic progress, and key initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve business planning processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential business risks and develop mitigation strategies as part of the planning process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA highly preferred.
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in business planning, financial analysis, strategic consulting, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic and operational plans.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, financial planning software).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific trends and market dynamics (if applicable to your company).
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
