Here is a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:
- Oversee concepting and art direction for fashion, talent, still life and video shoots, branding and all content output, ensuring our visuals are on-brand, inclusive, contemporary and desirable within agreed budgets.
- Focus on creating industry leading tier 1 brand campaigns, incorporating storytelling, cultural and company values and entertainment.
- Lead the design team and develop the MR PORTER visual brand identity ensuring this is central and consistent in all creative projects, from core institutional branding to onsite, email and experiential design for events and physical pop-up spaces.
- Work strategically to drive brand awareness and deliver strong sales through market leading and innovative creative for paid social executions, through stills, video and motion content.
- Develop and maintain relationships with photographers, film makers, illustrators, designers and external agencies for MR PORTER, nurture and encourage collaborations with new and exciting artists who share our brand values.
- Keep up to date with emerging trends in fashion, design, film, art, media and technology where relevant to MR PORTER, with a particular attention to the digital and social space.
- Collaborate with fashion, content, marketing, social, paid media, UX, shoot production, email and site trading teams to lead concepts process and projects and meet objectives and targets.
- Review work for highest standards of quality, consistency, accuracy for a successful project completion. Provide management, leadership, inspiration, guidance, support and direction for the team, critically evaluate the creative process and work to improve with the creative team.
- Manage the team through multiple projects planning and be responsible for timely delivery of all creative projects. Work with the Production Department to allocate resource within the creative team to greatest effect.
- Create a world class creative team; consistently review and evaluate team, conducting twice yearly appraisals, identify needs for training and development, coaching and mentoring; Assess needs and conflicts within the department; Ensure teams function effectively to achieve MR PORTER’s business goals. Identify and allocate team goals and objectives. Identify succession plan and recruitment needs for Design team.
The type of person we are looking for:
- Proven depth of experience in commissioning and directing photography, design and moving image in an e-commerce luxury space
- Extensive relevant experience in men’s luxury fashion
- Experience within a multi-brand and/or e-commerce environment
- Extensive experience working for a global brand, understanding of different market needs
- Existing relationships with relevant photographers/directors/stylists etc
- Proficient in digital and print design, collateral branding and event branding
- Proven management experience
- Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills
- Breadth of experience in creating visuals for digital and social executions, special projects, 360 campaigns, especially for paid and organic media channels.
- Highly proficient in design, typography, retouching, video and motion a plus, using Adobe Suite and Figma
- Detail orientated and extremely well organized
