The Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) supports nursing staff in providing high-quality patient care, carrying out clinical tasks, and ensuring a clean and safe healthcare environment. The LNA works collaboratively within the healthcare team, reporting directly to the nurse manager. This position requires a compassionate individual capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, dedicated to helping provide excellent patient care and supporting the nursing team.
Essential Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Licensure:
- Current and valid Nursing Assistant License.
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic medical records (EMR).
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital or long-term care facility.
Essential Functions:
- Assist nurses with direct patient care activities, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Assist with patient mobility and transportation, ensuring safety at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and common areas.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' conditions to nursing staff promptly.
- Help with the preparation and serving of meals, adhering to dietary guidelines.
- Ensure proper infection control procedures are followed.
- Support nurses in collecting specimens for laboratory tests as needed.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of medical equipment.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
