Damen Financial Services focuses on the energy transition for the maritime world, converts CAPEX to OPEX for customers, and acts as a disruptor in the maritime world using digital technology. DFS aims to develop into one of the larger clients of the Damen Shipbuilding Divisions, generate new business for other divisions, de-risk complex structures to benefit stakeholders, and generate a stable cash flow to support the Group. The division is fully in control of its processes and uses state-of-the-art systems.
The Role
In this role you work in close cooperation with the financial management of the division and the Manager Finance & Administration.
You will be accountable for the professionalization of the finance processes and the department and you will be involved in the ongoing monitoring of the company objectives.
Together with the Manager Finance & Administration you will be accountable for accurate financial and qualitative division results.
In addition you will assist the Manager Finance & Administration in performing financial integrity in the day-to-day operational- and project management.

- Having a leading role in further enhancing the financial function within the company, also in preparation to become an independent division next to the Damen Group;
- Preparing the weekly cash flow forecast for the company, including the reporting;
- Together with the Manager Finance & Administration, being responsible for an accurate financial accounting system, in close cooperation with the Shared Service Center, and control information system;
- Supporting the Manager Finance & Administration in providing monthly and quarterly financial reporting of the company to the company Directors and to the Damen Group;
- Preparing the annual budget, including the 5-year outlook, which is updated every quarter;
- In cooperation with the Manager Finance & Administration delivering all annual accounts of the entities that belong to the division in a correct and timely manner, this in close cooperation with the business, Group Control and external auditors;
- A continuous review of financial, control and management information systems and procedures, implementing improvements across the organization;
- Assisting the Manager Finance & Administration in being responsible for reviewing, updating and documenting the organization’s financial policies and procedures to ensure full compliancy with (inter)national laws and regulations;
- Developing (inter)national financial, tax and risk reduction strategies and monitoring financial operations of subsidiary companies;
- Contributing to the companies planning and control cycle;
- Having a proactive role in applying all compliance rules and regulations;
- Supporting in ad-hoc initiatives to support the business and improve and automate processes.
Skills & Experience
- a (Post-)Graduate level or a Bachelor degree preferably in Business Economics, Accountancy or equivalent;
- Up-to-date knowledge and understanding of economic business principles, laws and regulations, trends and developments in data-processing and -analytics
- Knowledge of and experience with ERP systems and BI tools.
- Good command of the Dutch and English language (written and verbal);
- Tech-savvy, able to work with new software quickly.
