UNFPA Egypt Country Office
Purpose of consultancy:
Since 2012, UNFPA Egypt's Humanitarian Programme has addressed the reproductive, maternal health, and gender-based violence (GBV) response needs of refugee women and girls. Thirteen years on, Egypt hosts over 1 million refugees, mostly women and girls, witnessing a 200% increase after the 2023 Sudan conflict, significantly heightening protection needs.
UNFPA supports women and girls through 13 Women and Girl Safe Spaces (WGSS), a global model to respond to GBV in humanitarian settings. These Safe Spaces provide multisectoral GBV response and prevention services, including GBV case management, mental health support, vocational training, and reproductive health access, serving as vital hubs for protection, empowerment, and inclusion for both refugee and host communities.
To advocate for this model and enhance understanding among external stakeholders, a knowledge product will be developed highlighting the WGSS approach, services, and achievements throughout UNFPA Egypt’s programming since 2017. The product will serve as an institutional history document, preserving the programme’s achievements for future reference.
To that end, UNFPA requires the design of a knowledge product in English and Arabic. The content has been drafted by the UNFPA Humanitarian Team and consists of a document of 15-20 pages (A4) and approximately 3,200 words with narrative and explanations on the project rationale, history and activities, foundational concepts for the programme, key human interest stories, and historical achievement.
The document includes suggestions for infographics, and schemes as well as multiple folders containing UNFPA-owned images related to each section. The selected consultant is expected to review and incorporate relevant visuals into the final design of the knowledge product, including the needed captions in consultation with UNFPA.

- Review and select relevant images from the provided folders, ensuring that visuals align with each section of the content and enhance the overall design of the knowledge product.
- Propose different sizes and formats to optimize information display in a booklet format, and specification for printing.
- Conduct rounds of feedback with UNFPA to adjust proposed layout and decide on final design.
