An exciting opportunity has arisen at Blatchington Manor of our specialist dementia residential home for a Head of Care.
In this role you will be supporting the manager a to ensure the safe and effective running of the care home while complying with regulation, legislation and policy.
You will be responsible for the organisation and day-to-day supervision of the care team to ensure all people using the service are treated with dignity and respect and the highest standards of care are achieved.
You will also will develop the care team by mentoring, supervising and assessing competency and to communicate any concerns with the Manager and the Regional Operations Manager.
Hours - 8am - 8pm - Including alternate weekends
Duties Include:
• Supporting the manager to ensure the safe and effective running of the care home while complying with regulation, legislation and policy relevant to the sector;
• Organisation and day-to-day supervision of the care team to ensure all people using the service are treated with dignity and respect and the highest standards of care are achieved;
• Developing the care team by mentoring, supervising and assessing competency;
• Creating and updating care plans
• Fostering relationships with families to ensure that they are kept informed of all changes to the residents’ physical and emotional well-being
• To be responsible for the organisation and completion of the ordering, receiving and returning of medication with the senior staff. To complete the competency of new and existing staff in medication administration. Liaise with the pharmacy and GP surgery in regards to changes in medication, errors or medicines that have not been received
More about you:
• You will have leadership experience and a Social Care Diploma or NVQ level 3
• Experience with ordering and administering medication
• Experience of creating and updating care plans
• Kind and caring with a positive approach;
• Passionate about offering superior services and want to make a difference;

Package:
• £16.32 p/h weekdays £17.13 Weekends- You will need to be able to work every other weekend
