SUMMARY
The Shipping Team Lead supports the Shipping Department by coordinating daily tasks and distributing work assignments among the team. This role ensures that domestic and international shipments are prepared, scheduled, and completed efficiently and accurately. The Shipping Team Lead acts as a liaison between team members, carriers, internal departments, and customers. This role will also support the Department Supervisor with real-time shipment planning and execution.
PRIMARTY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Works closely with internal teams to confirm product readiness and resolve shipping-related issues.
• Assists in the confirmation of shipment scheduling with Traffic Clerk.
• Reviews and coordinates any special customer requirements in the shipment preparation process.
• Prepare shipping documents including packing slips, bills of lading, and paperwork for domestic and international shipments.
• Maintains and records shipping documents into internal systems.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and shipping regulations.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area and follows safety procedures.
• Provides training and coaching to team members to enhance their skills and promote professional growth. Identifies opportunities for cross-training to increase team flexibility.
• Oversee work performance and provides feedback and data to management to support performance reviews. Coaches team members on an ongoing basis. Inform management of all concerns as they arise.
• Serves as a backup to team members in different departments or functions, ensuring seamless operations in their absence.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar environment.
• Proven ability to coordinate daily activities and lead team members to meet department goals and quality standards
• Demonstrated experience and willingness to cross-train in various technical and operational functions.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Forklift certification or ability to pass within initial trial period.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and internal shipping systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e., climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
