Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies is recruiting for Finance Co-ops for multiple locations across the United States.

The Payroll Finance Co-op position can support numerous operating companies within Global services, Medical Device and Pharmaceutical Sectors. This position is located in Florida (Tampa) with an alternate location upon approval.

The Co-op Program is a six-month program focused on providing college students with practical business experience. It allows them to develop leadership technical and communication skills as well as broaden their understanding of the concepts learned in school and "get a taste of the real world" before they are fully committed to it. The Co-op program participants will be better able to apply concepts learned in the classroom and will be able to ask more poignant questions of their professors to further their goals and education. The Co-op program is the primary feeder for entrance into Johnson & Johnson's Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP). The Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP) is a 30-month program designed specifically to prepare future generations of business leaders within the Johnson & Johnson accounting and finance organization. Participants will develop critical leadership & technical skills through rotational assignments at J&J business units, in-depth training, & ongoing coaching and feedback. FLDP participants complete 6 months of onboarding followed by two 12-month rotations. There are five weeks of training over the course of the 30-month program. Training covers all areas and competencies that are critical to success at J&J and is delivered through a combination FLDP leadership, J&J executives, Finance management, and external consultants.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop practical payroll skills across the breath of our US, Puerto Rico and Canada payroll department all the while balancing your academic commitments.

The position start date is as soon as possible

The Payroll Co-op program participant role includes Payroll processing, financial accounting and analysis, SOX and Compliance support. Specific responsibilities may include:

Payroll Support

  • Ensure accurate review and maintenance of payroll interface data, with precise attention to detail including work hours, benefits, statutory deductions, and general ledger accounting.
  • Assist in processing the payroll cycle by helping prepare payroll reports, uploads, verifying calculations and funding.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure payroll accuracy and timeliness.

Employee Assistance

  • Provide support to employees by addressing payroll-related questions.
  • Support and perform routine audits and data checks.

Regulatory Compliance & Confidentiality

  • Learn and adhere to federal, state, and local payroll regulations in the United States, as well as the relevant provincial and municipal payroll regulations in Canada.
  • Adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards and guidelines
  • Ensure all sensitive financial and employee information is handled with strict confidentiality.

Administrative Support

  • Engage in routine administrative tasks such as mail, scanning, and organizing documents.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, to efficiently manage numerical data.
  • Familiarity with payroll software, CRM or basic data management tools is a plus.

Attention to Detail & Organizational Skills

  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Communication Skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating within a team and assisting employees.
  • Ability to interact professionally with colleagues and other stakeholders.

Other Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in an accredited College/University is required.
  • Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate or Fifth Year Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics or business-related major with an expected graduation date in 2026 or 2027.
  • A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel is preferred.
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States, without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future is required.
  • During the Co-op, current enrollment in an accredited College / University is required.
  • Ability to work full-time during the six-month program is required.
