About This Opportunity

The Senior Coordinator, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications plays a critical role in strengthening relationships and enhancing communications across the UQ Graduate School (UQGRS). Working closely with the Dean, Deputy Dean, and UQGRS leadership team, this position is responsible for developing and implementing a coordinated stakeholder engagement strategy while managing a wide range of internal and external communication activities. The role is supported by a collaborative team environment that values initiative, relationship-building, and impactful communication.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Develop and deliver a stakeholder engagement plan aligned with UQGRS’s purpose, vision, and priorities to increase awareness, trust, and engagement with key audiences.
  • Provide high-quality communications, including speeches, newsletters, digital content, and reports, ensuring alignment with UQ’s strategic and governance standards.
  • Lead and mentor the Enquiries team, setting priorities, monitoring performance, and fostering effective team operations.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including UQ Marketing and Communication and industry partners.

This is a full-time, continuing position at HEW Level 7. 

About You

 You are a skilled communicator and relationship builder with the ability to design and deliver impactful engagement strategies in a dynamic higher education environment. With a background in stakeholder engagement and internal communications, you bring strong leadership capabilities, exceptional writing skills, and a collaborative approach to managing diverse priorities.

You Will Bring:

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing stakeholder management and communication programs, with a focus on internal communications.
  • Strong writing and content creation skills, with proven ability to deliver high-quality communication across digital, print, and speech formats.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, resolve issues proactively, and maintain a strong commitment to client service.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of the higher education sector and/or experience with digital communication tools and platforms (e.g. SharePoint, Adobe Suite, Drupal).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including supervising small teams, managing workloads, and fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and influence outcomes.
  • Desirable: Qualifications in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related area.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, etc.
