Resource management remains one of our key objectives for our markets so we need to think broadly and differently, this position will enable us to work not only as one joined up business across markets, disciplines and internal structures, but also to enable the free movement of talent for business growth and career development.

Alongside our capability growth and workforce planning improvements, this is an exciting time to be part of a fundamental business change to drive results under our evolving operating model. This position supports hybrid working and can be based from any of our current UK locations of Warrington, London, Bristol, Newcastle or Knutsford with travel as required to support business needs. Key responsibilities will be:

  • Partner with the Divisional business stakeholders to plan, map and facilitate resource requirements to be made visible, shared and managed.
  • Work with the central team resource managers to coordinate resource management for all project delivery roles (including those in business development) across the Divisions.
  • Manage the redeployment process with the Capability & Resourcing Leads in the Division to enable a smooth transition, positive employee experience and to minimise overhead costs.
  • Prioritise resourcing decisions based on risk, timing constraints, project and employee continuity and geographic considerations.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to agree and approve new hires where existing resources are not available, cannot be made available or substituted by contingent labour (exhausting all internal options first).
  • Provide robust challenge to talent hoarding or inflexibility in resource requirements, including supporting those entering negotiations with clients over resource requirements.
  • Work with business stakeholders and the Capability Growth Leads to drive the completion of workforce planning in the appropriate system, including messaging, capturing and resolving issues and ideas for improvement that arise and continued use.
  • Own the cadence and governance around resource management, including weekly, monthly calls, reporting and data management; generate appropriate reports to support Divisional and Business Line requirements.
  • Develop creative solutions to solve operational resourcing challenges that are suitable to meet both short and long term needs.
  • Understand career development needs of individuals through partnership with business stakeholders (Heads of Profession, subject matter experts, Capability & Resourcing Leads) and facilitate movement to support this where possible.
  • Regularly review and improve resource management processes in conjunction with Divisional Capability &Resourcing Leads and central resourcing team.
  • Be an advocate and promoter of the new ways of working (margin follows the project), through understanding the changes this brings and how they impact effective resource planning and deployment.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of work pipeline across E&E-I and the Strategic Capability Plan to support the delivery of both.
