As a Principal Cost Analyst at Worley, you will bring together your expertise in cost analysis and your ability to provide clear insights that influence major project decisions. Purpose of the role

You will be responsible for coordinating the overall cost analysis activities across one or more major projects. This includes preparing, reviewing, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of project cost reports, liaising directly with project managers and customers on cost control matters, and conducting periodic site visits to verify cost data. You will assign and review work performed by cost analysis staff, provide technical guidance, and act as a trusted subject matter expert on complex cost-related issues.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and accuracy of project cost reports for complex, large-scale projects.
  • Collaborate with project management, clients, and cross-functional teams to ensure robust cost control processes are in place.
  • Make site visits to validate field cost reporting and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight to subordinate cost analysts.
  • Apply advanced understanding of systems, processes, and tools to troubleshoot and improve cost reporting and analysis practices.
  • Utilize extensive business knowledge to develop meaningful conclusions from data analyses and apply findings to enhance project and organizational outcomes.
  • Proactively prioritize and manage complex cost challenges across multiple projects or organizational areas.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A university degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive, relevant experience in cost analysis, project controls, or related functions.
  • Recognized subject matter expertise in cost analysis and reporting for major projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex data and communicate clear, actionable insights to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring, guiding, and reviewing the work of others.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of cost control systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to develop and improve them.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence and persuade effectively in high-stakes environments.
