Building on our past. Ready for the future

Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We’re bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

We are looking for a Principal Project Planner who will play an integral role in shaping how we deliver some of the world’s most complex and impactful projects. This is an opportunity to bring your expertise in planning and scheduling to a team that values precision, collaboration, and a forward-looking mindset.

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the activities of our schedulers, ensuring accuracy and alignment across engineering and construction schedules. You will be responsible for developing trusted relationships with colleagues across multiple functions, presenting scheduling procedures to clients, and providing leadership in the selection, appraisal, and training of planning and scheduling staff.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the work of schedulers, ensuring quality, consistency, and accuracy of all project schedules.
  • Review and validate engineering and construction schedules, proactively identifying risks, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Develop strong relationships across disciplines and serve as a trusted partner to project leaders and clients.
  • Lead the adoption and presentation of scheduling procedures, ensuring that best practices are embedded across projects.
  • Provide technical guidance to staff, including mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing to raise overall team capability.
  • Contribute to the development of new systems, processes, and tools to continuously improve planning efficiency.
  • Report on project progress, flag potential delays or risks, and support decision-making with data-driven insights.
  • Offer thought leadership in planning, applying advanced business acumen and deep technical knowledge to complex project challenges.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A university degree in a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • At least 10 years of relevant planning and scheduling experience, with a track record of managing complex, multi-project environments.
  • Recognized expertise as a subject matter specialist, capable of providing consultation and influencing project strategies.
  • Strong analytical ability to identify patterns, anticipate challenges, and proactively draw out the right questions.
  • Advanced knowledge of planning systems, processes, and tools, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize them.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to persuade and inform on complex matters across multiple audiences.
  • Proven leadership in mentoring and guiding staff, with the ability to balance technical oversight and people development.
  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to work independently with broad objectives, knowing when to engage others for maximum impact.

Feel the energy at Worley with access to a range of benefits including paid time off, holiday pay (usually 8 per year in the US), and eligibility to participate in medical, life, dental, and vision insurance plans, as well as a 401(k) plan.

If this sounds like the right role for you, we encourage you to apply and take the next step in your career journey with us.
