We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Data Engineer to join our Data, Digital & Analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the development, monitoring and maintenance of analytical data products that meet BNZ’s business requirements and quality.Mō te Tūranga | About the RoleWe sat down with our Head of Data, and they let us know the following about the role.What are some of the day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?The successful candidate is expected to build data products by:- Gathering and understanding data requirements and limitations
- Exploring raw and conformed data Using SQL or python to transform data
- Automating pipelines using data engineering tools such as Apache Airflow, DBT and Fivetran Completing code peer reviews
- Eagerness to focus on their development within the Data Engineering space
- Highly Proficient in SQL or Python
- A background in modern data engineering practices
- The ability to translate technical information to a non-technical audience
- Knowledge of an agile environment using DevOps practices
