Principal Responsibilities
New Business Generation from all segments from Ottawa/Montreal regions with a primary focus on Group, Catering and Corporate Transient business.  New business is defined as any client, direct or third party, that has not been contacted by any other Sales Person at the Chelsea in 1 (one) year.
 

Key Result Areas

  1. Develop new business for the Chelsea Hotel, Toronto with focus on group, catering and corporate transient business. 
  2. Business from a new third party which is connected to an existing client of the hotel will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
  3. Daily activities including prospecting, sales calls and presentations to develop new business for the property.  All activities to be logged in Salesforce. 
  4. Identify and participate in designated trade shows, sales blitzes and familiarization tours and other sales initiatives.
  5. Attend out-of-town sales trips and trade shows when necessary. 
  6. Attend and participate in industry meetings and events such as CSAE, MPI  
  7. Communicate new leads to cstor.sales@chelseatoronto.com with copies to the Director of Sales and Sales Performance Manager. If requested by the assigned Sales Manager, liaison with the Sales Manager to close the business lead for the Hotel.
  8. Entertain potential clients on behalf of the Hotel

Business

  1. Identify opportunities and develop initiatives to assist with need periods and revenue generation.
  2. Participate in the achievement of monthly/quarterly and/or annual goals; reporting on same (activity and room-nights).
  3. Attend meetings in Toronto as required,

Customer Satisfaction

  1. Development and maintenance of prioritized customer accounts and prospecting lists.

Process Improvement/ Productivity

  1. Solicits prospects, develops leads and communicate leads to cstor.sales@chelseatoronto.com.
  2. Communicate new leads to cstor.sales@chelseatoronto.com with copies to Director of Sales and Sales Performance Manager – they will review and confirm credit to be received.
  3. If requested by the assigned Sales Manager, liaison and assist to close the new business lead for the Hotel.
  4. Enter activities into Salesforce and keep account and contact information updated following the Langham Standards.
  5. Participates in an annual incentive plan – based on achievement of activities on a quarterly basis
  Academic and Working Qualifications  

Working Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hotel sales with a strong client base.

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of hospitality, sales segments and business acumen.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and related programs.
  • Proficiency in Amadeus/Salesforce.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Hotel Management degree an asset.

Soft Skills

  1. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with clients both externally and internally within the organization.
  2. Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills mandatory.
  3. Ability to work remotely

Language

  1. Excellent verbal and written skills
  2. Our preferred candidate will be fluent in French and English.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work evenings/weekends and travel as required.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
