Responsibilities

  • Ensure training operations of the Secondary Calibration Squadron are being performed in accordance with RSAFM 105-8.
  • Ensure all training documentation is correctly maintained by Laboratory Supervisors and Trainers.
  • Establish guidelines for the MetCal Training Program and On-the-Job (OJT) reporting requirements.
  • Introduce training programs to improve and maintain technical personnel competence and capabilities.
  • Brief the officer in charge, supervisor, trainers and trainees on the concepts and objectives of OJT.
  • Assist supervisors in obtaining current OJT training materials and directives review accuracy of training documentation.
  • Maintain the status of the unit’s OJT program and provide the unit commander with a monthly briefing on its status.
  • Review the RSAF Form 105-8-11 for correctness and forward it to the Training Wing (TW).
  • Conduct (90) days Staff Assistance Visits (SAV) to all sections in the unit.
  • Advise and assist supervisors and trainer in conducting OJT.
  • Advise and assist supervisors in preparing RSAF training documents.
  • Request courses, needed to support OJT, through the TW in timely manner.
  • Monitor RSAF trainee progress through trainees Consolidated Training Record (CTR).
  • Deliver CTRs of newly assigned personnel to work center supervisors.
  • Provide the TWs with correctly maintained CTRs of transferring personnel.
  • Advise and assist supervisors in developing and using master and individual Job Proficiency Guides.
  • Assist supervisors in developing tests.
  • Attend METCAL Review meetings.
  • Maintain a file of current Speciality Training Standards (STS), and when developed, counterpart-training plans for each authorized AFSC listed in the Unit Manning Document (UMD).
  • Monitor request for classification boards and ensure that CTRs accompany each request.

Job Requirements:

  • Should have at least five years recent experience in performing or supervising training functions in multi –skilled organization. Ideally, the applicant would have previous work experience in a calibration laboratory.
  • Should have successful completed a formal training specialist course or equivalent directed towards the administration and supervision of training functions and activities.
  • Should be fully conversant with the requirements of RSAF Manual 105-8, On the Job Training and have a good working knowledge RSAF Instruction 4-7702, RSAF Metrology Program.
  • Should be educated to at least Ordinary National Certificate level or equivalent, or have significant work experience to waiver this requirement.
  • Must possess appropriate English oral and writing skills and the ability to compose and construct clear and understandable letters and reports.
  • Must have the ability to identify future requirements of the RSAF Metrology Program and to develop strategic plans and initiatives to accommodate such requirements.
  • Must be highly organized and have the ability to multi task.  Must be able to communicate effectively with high levels of management within the RSAF and Company with proper tact, protocol and diplomacy.
  • Must demonstrate Knowledge of interviewing and counselling techniques, training techniques and methods of instruction, learning processes and training evaluations and reporting procedures.
  • Must be fully committed to acting and managing with the highest standards of ethical behavior at all times.
  • Must be familiar with, and able to use, Microsoft Office software applications to an advanced level and have the aptitude for future upgrade training as deemed necessary.
  • Must hold a valid Saudi Arabian Driving License and be willing to travel at short notice.
  • Must be have a minimum two years within BAE Systems or from a recognised commercial/military organisation, with a Metrology background to be able to advise the MetCal Wing and Secondary Calibration Squadron Commanders on training issues.
