Hill International is seeking a Project Manager II in Catalina Island, California

  • Experienced Project Manager capable of quickly ramping up to oversee 5–9 projects, with full accountability for scope, budget, and schedule outcomes.
  • Hands-on contributor to project execution, proactively identifying challenges and implementing solutions. Collaborates to define project goals, timelines, risk assessments, key milestones, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Effective problem solver who drives task completion by setting priorities and resolving conflicts among team members and functional groups.
  • Proficient in core project management principles, with the ability to learn and apply organization’s utility-specific processes including investment decisions, project management workflows, budgeting and scoping tools, procurement, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements—particularly for water, gas, and electric infrastructure projects on Catalina Island.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across external agencies, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Listens actively and respects diverse viewpoints.
  • Self-driven and well-organized, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

  • Maintains clear project boundaries with external groups, while appropriately escalating non-project-related issues that arise during execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or a technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.
  • Minimum of seven years of project management experience required.
  • Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, and Microsoft Project.
  • Primavera P6 and SAP experience required.
  • Experience in the utility industry preferred.
  • Background in construction management preferred.
  • Exposure to environmental and permitting processes preferred.
  • Must be local to Southern California.
  • Hybrid work schedule; Required to go Catalina Island twice a week.

Salary range for this position is $100,000 – $120,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
