About The Job
As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You're passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.
As an Government Affairs and Public Policy Analyst on Google’s EU Institutions Team in Brussels, you will be a vital contributor to shaping Google's engagement with the European Union's key legislative and regulatory bodies. This role sits at the intersection of technology, policy, and law. You will combine intellectual and strong organizational skills to monitor, analyze, and support the execution of Google’s public policy strategy across a wide range of critical EU tech and AI policy domains.
You will translate external policy developments into actionable internal intelligence, and help communicate Google's positions to policymakers. You'll be part of a global Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team, working across regions, product areas, and functions to inform our perception and direction.
Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and distill EU legislative progress, particularly within the AI and economic policy cluster, to support the execution of Google’s regulatory and executive outreach.
- Coordinate and facilitate relevant policy activities between the Brussels team and Google's wider network of policy teams across EU countries and global functions on key tests.
- Support the development and implementation of engagement strategies with EU institutions, industry partners, and third-party stakeholders across various policy areas.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of German-speaking and Scandinavian member state policy cultures and processes to gather insights and facilitate effective outreach to national representatives in Brussels.
