Description
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for managing, directing and controlling the manufacturing activity to ensure that the final product has been made following the quality plans, policies, and procedures in order to meet customer expectations. They will also be responsible for the supervision of the Quality Assurance staff.
In addition, The Quality Supervisor will participate in the investigation of customer complaints and taking corrective action as necessary.
Additional Position Responsibilities:
- Attendance scheduling, monitoring, and disciplining of hourly quality team members.
- Coordinate all actions and activities to improve the quality management system and monitors implementation, with a goal of improving "zero defects".
- Monitor and maintain the quality level of product.
- Assist production to manage non-conforming product and to analyze and eliminate problems.
- Release authority for customer/supplier quality requirements (with direction from QM/QE/SQE).
- Lead the disposition of suspect/non-conforming material and help determine root cause.
- Manage and reduce quarantine stock on hand.
- Use various tools, fixtures, measurement devices to analyze functionality of product.
- Recognize and disposition of product requiring sort, rework, or scrap based on customer specifications.
- Manage product containment activity when necessary and determine clean points with operational assistance.
- Additional responsibilities and activities may be added on a need basis, as assigned by management.
Specific System Responsibilities:
- Know and comply with the policies of the Integrated Management System, the guidelines of the Code of Ethics, the rules of occupational risk prevention and the rules of security and protection of information.
- Work following the processes defined in the organization.
- Ensure order and cleanliness in their area of responsibility.
- Make responsible use of resources and raw materials.
- Properly segregate waste using the containers provided for this purpose.
- Ensure their own safety, always complying with the safety measures and ORP regulations applicable in each case.
- Use appropriately and responsibly the personal protective equipment required for their position.
- Comply with the measures implemented in the information security risk control and prevention systems.
- Report any conduct that they consider may pose a risk to information security and, in particular, to the security of personal data.
- Minimum education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledgeable in Quality Systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VW FORMEL-Q).
- Familiar and experienced with problem solving methodologies such as 8D and 5WHYs. FMEA knowledge
- Knowledge of the D/TLD concept.
- 1-3 years Quality Supervisor position experience.
- Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
- Experience of working in Quality Assurance.
- Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers.
- Must wear safety gear and PPE when on production floor.
- Order and cleanliness of their area and its environment.
- Able to stand/and or sit for 10+ hours per day.
- Must be able to walk the production floor with the Plant Manager as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Respect and communicate "quality and environment" as well as the rules of health and safety.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
