Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated HR Officer to join our HR team in Utrecht. In this role, you will spend around 40% of your time on payroll and HR administration for the Netherlands and Denmark, and the remainder supporting a wide range of HR activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some HR experience who is eager to develop into a broader HR generalist role and grow within an international environment.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll & HR Administration (40%)

  • Prepare and process monthly payroll for the Netherlands and Denmark in collaboration with external payroll providers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Maintain personnel data in our HR systems, ensuring correctness and completeness.
  • Support employees and managers with questions on contracts, benefits, and local legislation.
  • Handle personnel administration (onboarding, offboarding, contract management, reporting).
  • Registration of sick leaves in the Dutch ARBO system

Generalist HR Support (60%)

  • Act as a first point of contact for employees and managers in Utrecht and other regions.
  • Support managers in applying HR policies and procedures in line with both local legislation and company guidelines.
  • Assist managers in the recruitment process by liaising with external recruiters, helping to define role requirements, and guiding them through the interview and selection process.
  • Contribute to performance management cycles, employee satisfaction measurement, employee development initiatives, and HR projects.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters and escalate complex cases when needed.
  • Stay informed about HR legislation and best practices in the Netherlands and Denmark.
  • Provide guidance in the execution of the law “Poortwachter” together with our Arbo company

Profile

  • Some experience in HR operations or administration, preferably with payroll exposure.
  • Knowledge of Dutch employment law; exposure to Danish payroll is a plus but not required (training will be provided).
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a hands-on mentality.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and motivated to grow into a broader HR generalist role.
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (spoken and written).

What We Offer

  • A dynamic and international work environment.
  • The opportunity to combine operational HR tasks with broader HR generalist experience.
  • Guidance and support to learn and grow within the HR field.
  • An office-based role in Utrecht with flexibility where possible.
  • A stable and growing company with an entrepreneurial mindset, where your ideas are valued, and we support you in making them happen.
  • International growth opportunities and internal mobility.
  • Engaging events: team lunches, after-work gatherings, sports activities, and trips.
  • Learning opportunities: languages, technology, product knowledge, sales techniques, and leadership development.
