InterContinental Dubai Marina is a Five Star luxury hotel in the heart of Dubai Marina, featuring 328 rooms and residence suites, flexible event spaces, and a variety of restaurants & bars. With over 30 languages and countries represented by the staff, the hotel weaves together an international five-star presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and lead all hotel renovation projects including design reviews, scheduling, contractor and vendor management, quality control, and handover.
- Work closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B, etc., to Communicate project timelines, status, and impacts to minimize guest disruption.
- Oversee all capital expenditure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, building codes, safety/fire/life safety standards, environmental requirements.
- Incorporate sustainability and energy efficiency practices wherever possible.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports on progress, budget vs actual spends, maintenance activities and risk assessments.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, adherence to specifications, and timely resolution of technical issues or delays.
- Identify potential project risks and operational challenges early and develop a contingency plan to mitigate potential challenges to ensure minimal impact on hotel performance.
- Provide regular updates and clear communication with senior management, general manager, and owners to ensure alignment and informed decision-making.
- Mentor and motivate engineering team members, fostering a high-performance culture with focus on safety, quality, and guest experience excellence.
- Oversee post-renovation inspections, warranty follow-ups, and reviews to ensure all project deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
- Conduct risk assessments and create contingency plans to mitigate potential challenges.
- Use own knowledge and experience of industry best practice to review and manage project processes and policies, providing insightful recommendations that support senior management to improve processes and systems.
- Support testing, commissioning, and snagging completion.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Facilities Management or related.
- Project Management Diploma / PMP certification as an additional qualification.
- Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in engineering projects, maintenance operations in hospitality or similar.
- Proven track record of managing medium to large scale projects (renovation / CAPEX) successfully.
- In-depth knowledge of MEP systems, building services, and modern engineering solutions.
- Strong leadership skills; ability to manage teams, contractors, vendors, and Consultants.
