We are seeking an experienced MDU Project Director to join our team. The MDU Project Director is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution, and financial performance of large-scale telecommunication infrastructure projects in Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs) nationwide. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the MDU Project Director manages multi-million-dollar portfolios, leads cross-functional teams, and drives operational excellence across diverse markets while maintaining P&L accountability.

The Role
- Direct the end-to-end execution of multi-state fiber deployment programs across multiple MDU projects
- Develop and implement standardized processes, best practices, and operational frameworks to ensure consistency and scalability across all regional markets
- Lead strategic planning initiatives to expand market presence, optimize resource deployment, and capture new growth opportunities
- Partner with Sales, Business Development, and Executive Leadership to align project delivery with company growth objectives and revenue targets
- Own full P&L responsibility for assigned project portfolio, managing revenues, expenses, margins, and profitability across multiple states
- Monitor project financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain budget targets
- Review and approve contractor payments, change orders, and expenditure requests while maintaining strict cost controls
- Provide executive-level financial reporting and business insights to COO and senior leadership team
- Oversee simultaneous fiber deployment projects across multiple states, ensuring alignment with company standards and local regulatory requirements
- Coordinate complex permitting processes, utility coordination, and right-of-way negotiations across diverse municipal jurisdictions
- Navigate varying state and local regulations, building codes, and telecom infrastructure requirements
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, telecom standards, and environmental requirements
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and customer excellence
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between construction, operations, engineering, sales, and finance teams
- Serve as executive point of contact for major property owners, developers, REITs, HOAs, and enterprise clients
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key industry stakeholders, vendors, and consultants
- Resolve escalated issues and ensure exceptional client satisfaction across all markets
- Implement quality control processes and conduct site audits to verify workmanship and adherence to specifications
- Manage material logistics, inventory planning, and supply chain coordination for multi-state operations
- Nationwide travel +/- 75% annually to project sites, regional offices, client locations, and industry events across multiple states
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks across project portfolio including schedule delays, cost overruns, safety incidents, and access limitations
- Maintain transparent communication channels with all stakeholders ensuring alignment and timely information flow
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in telecommunications construction, fiber deployment, or related infrastructure development
- 5+ years managing multi-state or regional operations
- Proven P&L management experience with demonstrated success overseeing project budgets exceeding $10M+ annually
- Extensive background in FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home), MDU infrastructure, and large-scale telecom construction projects
- Experience managing geographically dispersed teams and coordinating projects across multiple states simultaneously
- Track record of building and scaling deployment operations in competitive markets
- Advanced financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost optimization
- Deep knowledge of telecom construction standards, permitting processes, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Expertise in reading and interpreting complex construction documents, building plans, and fiber network designs
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, financial modeling tools, and reporting dashboards
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to interface effectively with C-suite executives, investors, property developers, and municipal authorities
- Ability to travel +/- 75% annually to project sites, regional offices, client locations, and industry events across multiple states
- Extended periods may be required in specific markets to support critical project phases or regional expansion
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or be on-call as needed to support project deadlines and address critical issues
- Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
