Job Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed drawings, plans, and schematics using AutoCAD software for a variety of projects, particularly in the fields of Automation, Electrical, and Industrial Controls technology. You will collaborate closely with engineers and designers to ensure technical accuracy, provide feedback on design issues, and maintain organized project documentation.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Create and revise detailed drawings, plans, and schematics using AutoCAD software.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and team members to produce technical drawings and ensure drawings are completed accurately and to specifications.
- Work from markups, rough sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Remain professional when feedback is delivered, and implement changes in a timely manner.
- Maintain and organize CAD files and documents.
- Communicate potential design issues to engineers and designers.
- Participate in project and team meetings and provide regular progress reports as needed.
- Conduct research of component details when required.
Requirements
What you will need to be successful in this role:
- Associate's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or similar field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software and experience with computers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Office 365, and other online resources for information.
- Minimum of 3+ years of practical CAD experience in the field of Automation and Electrical technology.
- PLC/SCADA and Industrial Controls knowledge highly desired.
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering and industry principles and regulations.
- Strong communication skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Superb work ethic with a solution-based, positive attitude.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
