Description

The Software Developer is a key member of our team, responsible for supporting the operations and maintenance of mission-critical systems in an agile environment. This role involves collecting and analyzing requirements, designing software, implementing solutions, debugging, and enhancing an existing catalog of applications. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on large, enterprise-level software development efforts and will support development across a range of custom applications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, and testing activities.
  • Maintain and enhance mission-critical applications in an agile development environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and performance of applications.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to build solutions in an agile and iterative fashion.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in processes, tools, and best practices.

Required Skills and Technical Experience

  • Proficiency in coding languages and technologies, including:
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum fundamentals.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability.
  • Strong team collaboration skills and a passion for building effective solutions in an agile environment.
  • ASP.NET MVC

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with serverless computing technologies, such as:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of relevant software development experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining complex applications in large-scale production environments.
  • Previous federal government project experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of management, as well as with customers and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information:

  • Clearance: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Background checks may include Criminal History, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Certifications, and Credit History. 
  • (Public Trust investigations typically take 4–8 weeks and require fingerprinting.)
  • Salary: $70,000 – $75,000 annually. SFI maintains broad salary ranges to account for variations in skills, experience, market conditions, and location.
