INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time, 12-week internship from May 18 to August 7, 2026 . Summer interns typically work from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday — approximately 40 hours per week. While contributing to department initiatives, interns will also engage in educational experiences that help prepare them for workplace life.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:  Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, and post-graduate students majoring in Computer Science fields will be considered for this internship. 

COMPENSATION: $22 per hour 

LOCATION: On-site at our office in Omaha, Nebraska. This is not a remote opportunity.

PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATION: ES&S views the Internship Program as a professional learning opportunity. Interns will be held to the same professional standards as all full-time employees. Interns are involved in division, team, and project meetings, take on tasks that impact department goals, and learn new skills. 

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:  As an intern in Product Development, you will take lead on a key feature in our current development release. Your feature will be chosen based on your interests and experience. You will work in an agile environment alongside other developers, quality assurance engineers and product owners. 

Skills Required:

• Basic understanding of software development principles and web development technologies
• Familiar with one or more high-level programming languages including writing, testing and debugging of code for front-end or back-end development
• Familiarity with development tools like AI and GitHub
• Familiar with computer architecture concepts, data structures, cybersecurity principles 
• Skilled in problem solving and troubleshooting. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills 
• Willingness and desire to learn and develop specific skills and abilities 
• Ability to work well with others or independently
