Grade VII Finance Analyst

Overview

To support Regional Finance in delivering accurate and timely management accounts, expert financial advice and decision support in relation to the delivery of safe health and social care services within the funding available.

To play a key analytical role for the region in the analysis of expenditure across Pay and Non-Pay categories and Income.

To support Regional Finance in providing high quality analysis to safely reduce costs and secure appropriate additional investment in services, including by linking inputs to outputs and demonstrating value for money.

To play a key analytical role in co-ordinating efforts to assess, establish, monitor and continuously improve the system of internal financial controls.

Essential Criteria

Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

• Membership, or working towards membership, of a recognised or prescribed accountancy body such as ACCA, CPA, ACMA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent

Or

• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a large complex organisation with multiple stakeholders

And

• Proven experience using finance and budgeting systems within a large, computerised environment.

Post Specific Requirements

Demonstrates extensive experience in the following areas:

• The production of monthly Management Accounts together with supporting analysis and commentary within strict deadlines
• Financial analysis and financial reporting within a complex organisation, encompassing direct engagement with and influencing of senior decision makers as regards financial performance
• Financial forecasting and financial modelling outcomes based on complex business activity information
• Using SAP or an equivalent ERP financial management system as relevant to the role
• Internal financial control systems.

A flexible approach to working hours is required to ensure deadlines are met.

The post holder must have access to appropriate transport to meet the requirements of the role, including travel between sites as needed.
