About Rippling
Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.
Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.
We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.
About The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our Headcount Planning team. You’ll play a key role in building the next generation of workforce planning tools, helping Finance, HR, and business leaders model, forecast, and adapt their teams in real time.
You’ll work across the stack to craft seamless user experiences, design scalable systems, and bring data-driven insights directly into the hands of decision-makers. As part of a growing product area at the intersection of Finance, HR, and Recruiting, your work will shape how companies make one of their most strategic investments: people. With major product launches on the horizon, you’ll tackle complex engineering challenges, drive meaningful impact, and help businesses plan and hire with greater speed and confidence.
What You Will Do
- Build Great Software: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, user-facing features and APIs that power dynamic, data-driven planning experiences.
- Deliver Fullstack Impact: Own features end to end, from backend logic and data modeling to rich, responsive frontend interfaces in React.
- Shape Scalable Systems: Lead technical design discussions and drive architectural improvements to ensure the product grows sustainably as adoption increases.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams (Finance, HRIS, and Recruiting) to ship thoughtful, intuitive experiences.
- Mentor and Uplift: Share best practices, provide technical mentorship, and help raise the bar across the broader Headcount Planning and Workforce Planning org.
- Drive Product Quality: Balance fast iteration with strong attention to detail. You care about reliability, testability, and usability in equal measure.
What You Will Need
- Experience: 5+ years of fullstack development experience building complex web applications at scale.
- Frontend Knowledge: Proficiency with React, TypeScript, or modern JavaScript frameworks. You care deeply about UI quality and user experience.
- Backend Knowledge: Expertise in Python, Django, or similar frameworks, with a strong grasp of system design and performance optimization.
- Technical Depth: Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and system design. You’re comfortable working with systems at scale and navigating complex technical challenges.
- Product Mindset: You think beyond code and are motivated by solving real user problems through elegant, impactful solutions.
- Bias for Ownership: You thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and take full ownership of the systems and experiences you build.
