About Rippling

Rippling is the first way for businesses to manage all of their HR & IT—payroll, benefits, computers, apps, and more—in one unified workforce platform.

By connecting every workforce system to a single source of truth for employee data, businesses can automate all of the manual work they normally need to do to make employee changes. Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can just click a button and set up a new employee’s payroll, health insurance, work computer, and third-party apps—like Slack, Zoom, and Office 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.2B from the world's top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Bedrock, and Greenoaks—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes (#12 out of 500).

About The Role

At Rippling, Corporate IT keeps our people productive and our environment secure—and serves as Customer Zero for our IT products. As our IT Manager, you’ll run day‑to‑day IT operations (endpoints, identity, SaaS, and offices) while partnering with Product and Engineering to turn real internal needs into roadmap, pilots, and launch‑ready features. You will synthesize pain points into crisp problem statements, run structured dogfooding and UAT, define success metrics, and deliver automation that reduces toil and ticket volume. Your work will directly improve employee experience, strengthen our security posture, and shape the IT product roadmap used by thousands of customers.

What You Will Do

  • You will own Corporate IT operations: service desk, incident management, SLAs/CSAT, and executive support.
  • You will drive zero‑touch device lifecycle (procurement → provisioning → returns) using Rippling Devices & Inventory.
  • You will lead identity and access management (SSO, SCIM, RBAC) and automate JML workflows across SaaS.
  • You will partner as Customer Zero with Product/Design/Engineering—translate pain points into requirements and proposals.
  • You will plan and run betas/UAT, define telemetry and success metrics, and synthesize qual/quant feedback into roadmap input.
  • You will build automation and self‑service (scripts/workflows/runbooks) to reduce tickets per employee and improve time‑to‑resolve.
  • You will maintain secure baselines (encryption, EDR, patching), support audits (SOC 2/ISO 27001). Partnering with the Security team to drive risk mitigation protects in our corporate environment.
  • Manage IT vendor relationships and manage the IT budget.
  • You will create admin playbooks, rollout plans, and change‑management comms for feature launches and IT programs.

What You Will Need

  • 5+ years in IT Ops/Systems Administration, ideally in cloud-native environments.
  • Hands-on with MDM (Rippling or similar), ITSM/ITAM (Jira Service Desk or similar), and Google Workspace/Slack/Zoom, etc.
  • Strong identity & SaaS administration background (SSO, SCIM, RBAC, least‑privilege) and JML automation.
  • Troubleshooting across macOS/Windows, networking, and SaaS.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Product/Engineering: writing requirements, running pilots/UAT, and influencing roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and a customer‑centric mindset; calm under pressure.
  • A history of running environments with a strong commitment to cyber Security and compliance and experience industry standard tooling and metrics (EDR, patching SLAs, CIS benchmarks, SOC 2/ISO 27001 evidence management).

About The Team

Corporate IT sits within product and partners closely with the Devices and IT Admin product teams, Security, Workplace/Facilities, and People Operations. We focus on automation, reliability, and a great employee experience—dogfooding Rippling to run a modern, secure, zero‑touch environment while feeding product insights that shape our roadmap. You’ll collaborate across San Francisco and other US locations, with opportunities to influence company‑wide programs and product direction.
